Back in 2016, the Department of Buildings (DOB) passed Local Law 152 as part of a larger set of rules designed to promote city safety from gas lines. While Local Law 152 was first introduced in 2016, the local government has since made changes and updates to the rules and requirements of the law. About Local Law 152

Local Law 152 is a law requiring that gas pipelines in all buildings, except for those under the R-3 occupancy group, be inspected by a Licensed Master Plumber (LMP) or a qualified professional.
